Cello is an uncompromising MM/MC phono preamplifier, designed for those who demand absolute fidelity in musical reproduction. It offers continuous gain adjustment from 20–50 dB and a six-step adjustment of cartridge loading impedance. All settings are easily accessible via high-quality rotary switches located on the rear panel.
The circuit topology is built around a dedicated MC module featuring FET transistors operating in pure Class A, alongside a classic MM preamplifier that precisely shapes the RIAA equalization curve. This separation of sections ensures optimal operating conditions and cohesive sonic performance.
Power is supplied by a proprietary linear power supply operating in a battery–mains hybrid mode. Housing it in a separate enclosure minimizes any interference from mains transformers and further improves the noise floor.
To ensure maximum signal integrity, the enclosures are crafted from 2 mm steel. This provides robust mechanical stability and highly effective shielding against external electromagnetic interference.
