Preamplifier – Pure Class A

The preamplifier stage was designed with a singular goal: achieving an “analog” sound character, reminiscent of refined tube amplifiers.

Key design principles:

•controlled generation of even-order harmonics

This section shapes Concerto’s musical identity — fluid, dimensional and emotionally engaging.

Preamplifier bandwidth: 15 Hz – 150 kHz

Such extended bandwidth ensures dynamic freedom and absence of compression within the audible range.

Volume Control

Concerto uses a 64-step relay-controlled resistor ladder.

At every setting, the signal passes through only two resistors per stereo channel. This guarantees:
•perfect channel balance
•repeatability
•signal integrity
•freedom from traditional potentiometer degradation

Power Supply

The preamplifier is powered by an oversized linear power supply with high current capability.
Experience shows that current delivery is one of the most critical — and often underestimated — factors in achieving natural, stable sound.
Custom-screened transformers, built to specification, minimize noise and hum while ensuring consistent performance.

Construction

Chassis made from steel and aluminum. Machined, gold-plated brass knobs and feet.

Each Concerto amplifier:
•is assembled by hand
•uses individually selected components
•undergoes measurement and listening tests
•is tested again after approximately 72 hours of continuous operation

Only proven components from established suppliers are used.
